(AP) -- Bargain hunters and latecomers flocked to stores on Sunday as the retail industry offered increased discounts and other come-ons the day before Christmas."This is the best time in the world to shop," said Chuck Mingrone of East Haven, Connecticut, as he left a Bath & Body Works store at Milford, Connecticut mall. Gap year, the longest vacation ever . I am worried!!
I am nearly at the end of my long vacation now. I havent studied for 10 months, and I think I dont remember most of my high school stuff. I am going to university of Toronto this September to study Computer engineering (Hopefully if I get my visa ) . Now, whenever I try to open my books, I just cant seem to concentrate anymore. Its just that unlike the times in school where I would have friends with whom I would compete with, but now there is no competition, no inspiration to study. I am afraid, that if I continue to go on with such an attitude, I ll definately screw up my chance as a good student and it is a highly competitive university . Can anyone tell me what they did,and have they ever gone through a gap year!! I need someone to slap some sense into me. And I also get distracted from many things such as anime,reading books (I am reading the hobbit), playing games, crafts, etc, I think I am suffering from Adhd.

All these years I was busy with my family like with kids....etc..I have completed my PG in English and now I have got as Lecturer for +2 children. Mom trying to catch up (afraid of generaton gap)
I am a mother of two, both of them are pre-schoolers, lately I've noticed a lot of new things about my kids. My 5 year-old girl says she likes Taylor Swift, so what I did was to google who is that, I found out she's a singer and I instantly like her songs then my boy likes ninja saga on facebook which I don't play but I watch him while playing online. The reason behind my actions is that I am so afraid of not understanding my kids' interest, I don't like the feeling of not connecting with them if ever they say or ask something. Is it normal? I am trying to avoid a generation gap I want to understand everything that's in or out for them. Is it paranoia?
